This week on New York NOW we go to class with Fordham Law Professor and former Democratic candidate for Congress Zephyr Teachout. Instead of traveling to the Bronx, though, we find her at the Kingston Public Library in Ulster County.
Along with local legislator Jennifer Schwartz Berky, Teachout spent four Thursdays in June teaching civics to around 50 residents of the Hudson Valley. The goal of the program, put on by the Good Work Institute, was to educate the participants so they can become more "informed and engaged to take civic action."
