Veteran Capital Region Congressman Paul Tonko (D-Amsterdam) and Republican challenger Joe Vitollo gathered at WMHT studios for a debate Thursday, October 20. Watch the full debate here:
Tonko, a longtime New York State Assemblyman and former head of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, was first elected in 2008. He won a fourth term in 2014, winning 59% of the vote. Here is that year's debate versus Jim Fischer.
Vitollo is a nurse and former member of the Air Force. He ran unsuccessfully for Albany County Executive in 2015.
