A young African-American politician is taking aim at a top spot in the Democrat Party before some say he's ready. Sound familiar?
Assemblyman Michael Blake, a longtime staffer for former President Barack Obama, is running for a vice-chair spot in the Democratic National Committee. The Bronx lawmaker is just 34 years old and, like his mentor, has had people say he's too young to run for such a lofty goal. In Obama's last official interview as president, he mentioned Blake as one of the party's rising stars.
This week we sit down with the assemblyman in-studio to discuss why he's running, his views on current President Donald Trump and his time working for Obama. Watch the full program above.
