Weinstein takes historic role in Assembly

Email share

It's only fitting during Women's History Month that we sit down with Brooklyn Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein.

After longtime Assemblyman Denny Farrell retired in 2017, Weinstein was named the new chair of the powerful Assembly Ways and Means Committee. She is the first woman to hold this role. Our Karen DeWitt sits down with the lawmaker to discuss the looming budget deadline and a new sexual harassment proposal in their chamber.

Also, Ken Lovett of the Daily News and Rick Karlin of the Times Union discuss Cynthia Nixon's entrance into the governor's race.
