Senator Gillibrand punts on Weiner question

Email share

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was asked in Albany today if she'll be endorsing anyone in the race to become New York City Mayor and more specifically, if Anthony Weiner should drop out in light of more evidence of him continuing on-line relationships after he resigned from Congress in 2011.  She didn't say he should exit, only that it should be left up to the voters.  When pressed more on her feeling on Weiner, her aide is heard saying "we gotta go."

She did, however, say that she is endorsing Scott Stringer for NYC Comptroller over former Governor Eliot Spitzer saying he "has the temperament and judgment that's appropriate" for the position.
