GOP newcomer Elise Stefanik easily defeated Watertown's Matt Doheny in what was a bruising primary in the North Country.   Doheny was the target of an ad campaign run by Karl Rove's super PAC American Crossroads.   In an email to supporters, he said because of this influx of money "the role of people, local supporters, and local advocacy are at risk of being great compromised."

We talk to journalist Thom Hallock of Mountain Lake PBS about the outcome and look ahead to the November election where Stefanik will take on Democrat Aaron Woolf and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello.  Doheny, who has already earned the Independence Line for the fall election, has not committed to actively campaigning for the seat.
