Astorino defends "Buffalo Billion" criticism

Last week Democrats seized on a comment Rob Astorino made about Governor Cuomo's "Buffalo Billion" revitalization program when he called it "throwing tax dollars around."   Lieutenant Governor Nominee Kathy Hochul, herself from Erie County, said the Republican Gubernatorial Nominee had "declared war on Buffalo."  The most animated part of the governor's acceptance speech last week at the Democratic convention was when he defended this particular program and others for upstate.  The Buffalo News came out today with an editorial against Astorino's position saying he is "dead wrong" on the issue.

Today at the Capitol, Astorino defended his remarks and said "they should take the money" but it may not be there in the future.  "The promises made may not come to fruition for Buffalo," the Westchester County Executive said.
