Inside the State Education Building

Take a rare tour inside the State Education Building, arguably Albany's finest work of architecture, with the former Director of Facilities and Business Services, George Webb. This 100 year old building boasts 36, 90 foot tall marble pillars, which people claim to be the longest colonnade in the world. This past spring, Governor Cuomo and state legislators passed a new teacher evaluation plan that will be available to parents, but not the general public. To date, though, only 214 of New York’s 728 districts have approved the plan. Districts have until January 2013 to implement the plan before there are ramifications. We spoke with Commissioner John King about what the ultimate goal is for all parties involved regarding these new evaluation standards. Watch the interview above.
