Report Recommends Ways to Make New York Farming More Diverse
Agriculture is one of biggest sectors of New York State’s economy. Yet people of color are largely left out of it. Just 1.3% of farm producers in New York are Black, indigenous, and other people of color.
A new panel convened by the state Department of Agriculture and Markets has released 21 recommendations to change that.
