Advocates Call for Immediate Reforms After 4th State Prison Inmate Dies of COVID-19

COVID-19 in New York State
Another inmate death in the New York State Prison System has prison reform advocates calling for emergency action.
The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision reported the death of an inmate on Dec. 30 at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden.
DOCCS has not released the name of the individual, but said the death was due to COVID-19. This marks the 4th incarcerated person to die of the virus in state prisons in the last two weeks.
