Wine store sues the State Liquor Authority

Email share

Our feature story focuses on a battle between a popular Capital Region wine store and the State Liquor Authority.

Owner Brad Junco sued the SLA earlier this summer after the agency said Empire Wine was in violation of a regulation that allows the entity to revoke, cancel or suspend a license.  The issue at hand was Empire's selling of wine to customers in 16 states that bar direct sales to customers.  Junco says there is no specific New York law banning this practice.
