Normally, the governor would deliver the State of the State on the first Wednesday after the first Monday of January but due to his father's death, he postponed the speech and ended up combining it with the annual budget address. Many of the governor's initiatives for the upcoming year have already been released which means the speech today will likely focus more on the dollars and cents of his initiatives.
