de Blasio Takes UPK Push to Albany

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio came to Albany for the fourth time in two months where he continued to pressure lawmakers to allow him to tax the wealthiest city residents in order to pay for his universal pre-k funding plan. 

Over a thousand, many from NYC unions, joined him just up the street from the Capitol where he implored those inside to lobby legislators.  Coincidentally or not, Governor Andrew Cuomo made a rare appearance at a rally outside the Capitol for those supporting charter schools across the state.  Recently, de Blasio cut funding to charter schools and ended agreements where three charter schools shared locations with public schools.
