Assistant AG Richard Schwartz killed in severe storms

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office today announced the death of longtime Assistant AG Richard Schwartz, who was killed Thursday night in Brooklyn during the severe storm.     

Schwartz was apparently walking home in his neighborhood when lightning struck a nearby church and he was hit by the falling scaffolding. He worked for the state for over 25 years as an antitrust lawyer.
