Upstate New York suffered terrible devastation when Tropical Storms Irene and Lee mercilessly pounded the area in late August of 2011. Schoharie, Delaware, and Greene counties were the hardest hit from the record rainfall and winds. With over 600 homes destroyed, numerous bridges and roadways wiped out and six casualties, State Operations Director Howard Glaser discusses the recovery effort and what measures the state took to assist the victims of these unforgettable storms.
