Now streaming: Education and ethics

Email share

This week on New York NOW we focus our time on two topics that have garnered a lot of attention in the last year: education and ethics.

Assemblywoman Cathy Nolan, a veteran lawmaker from Queens, is the education chair in her chamber.  She sits down with our Karen DeWitt to discuss new commissioner MaryEllen Elia, education funding in this year's budget and if the standardized test opt-out movement will be even greater in 2016.

Also, Bill Mahoney from Politico NY will discuss the multiple storylines coming out of Albany this week involving ethics, including a new call for legislative leaders to have open meetings regarding the topic and a Western New York lawmaker who was sanctioned this week by Speaker Carl Heastie.
